As there begins to be some separation among the wrestlers competing in Block A of the NJPW G1 Climax 34, the B Block remains incredibly close.

The standings for Block B went into a six-way tie at the top following the promotion’s event on Wednesday from the KDDI Ishin Hall in Yamaguchi, Japan.

While the day started with Yuya Uemura and Konoesuke Takshita sitting tied for first, losses from both competitors meant that they would have to share their top position with a few others by the end of the day. HENARE and David Finlay, who beat Uemura and Takeshita respectively, moved up to six points in total with wins on Wednesday.

Finlay’s win over Takeshita got the most attention of all, headlining the night and lasting 18 minutes in total. The Overkill from Finlay put an end to the match after a back-and-forth sequence, moving up up a spot in the standings.

Jeff Cobb and Ren Narita joined the six-point club this week as well. Cobb had a quick win over El Phantasmo, and Ren Narita overcame Hirooki Goto using his usual behind-the-back cheating tactics.

The G1 Climax will resume on Saturday with a show from Osaka. The card will feature A Block action, including a matchup between Zack Sabre Jr. and Shingo Takagi, plus a clash between IWGP champ Tetsuya Naito and Gabe Kidd.

Here are the results from Wednesday, plus an updated look at the standings:
