AEW’s Trent Beretta has revealed he has undergone neck surgery to repair a previous fusion procedure.

The 37-year-old posted a photograph on social media showing a surgical incision. He explained:

quick little american neck surgery. turns out I wrestled so hard that two of the screws from my neck fusion broke. very cool. very tough. screws have been replaced. next I will be doing revenge.

Beretta has not wrestled since AEW Double or Nothing on May 26th, when he was defeated by Orange Cassidy.

He continued to appear on AEW programming but was written off television after an angle in which he attempted to attack Cassidy after a tag match on the July 13th episode of Collision. Cassidy retaliated, hitting Beretta with a monkey wrench.

It is not known how long Beretta will be out of action as he recovers from the procedure.
