In the opening angle on Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes accepted a ‘Bloodline Rules’ stipulation for his SummerSlam match with Solo Sikoa.

The change effectively means a no-disqualification title match on Saturday.

The two will meet in the ring for Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship.

Rhodes came out to the ring to start SmackDown and was interrupted almost immediately by Solo Sikoa.

Sikoa demanded that the Cleveland crowd acknowledge him, but was greeted with “Solo sucks” and “We want Roman” chants.

Rhodes and Sikoa traded barbs on the microphone, with Cody calling his opponent a “self-appointed Tribal Chief” while he is an “actual” WWE Champion.

Rhodes first mentioned “Bloodline Rules” when he mentioned defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

Sikoa said Reigns was a “weak” Tribal Chief and challenged Rhodes to make their match at SummerSlam a Bloodline Rules match. At this point, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu emerged.

Rhodes told them he was not scared of any of them and accepted the stipulation.

He capped things off by telling Sikoa: “All I have to do is defeat the Tribal Chief. And since the Tribal Chief’s not here, I’ll settle for the wannabe.”
