Roman Reigns returns at SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes retains Undisputed WWE Title

Reigns gives assist to Cody.

Closing out the 2024 SummerSlam Premium Live Event was the Bloodline Rules match that saw Cody Rhodes defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa.

The first portion of interferences saw Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa target Rhodes. Coming out to offset them were Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. They ended up chasing off Tama and Loa.

Jacob Fatu joined the fray and stopped Rhodes from hitting a third Cross Rhodes onto Solo. He then placed Rhodes on the announce table, climbed to the top rope and did a splash onto him. Fatu immediately grabbed his lower leg/ankle and did not get up for the remainder of the match.

As Rhodes and Sikoa were both on the mat, Roman Reigns made his return. It was his first WWE appearance since he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Rhodes at WrestleMania XL in a Bloodline Rules match.

Reigns slid into the ring and hit Sikoa with a Superman Punch and spear. He gave a head nod to Rhodes, left the ring and Rhodes went on to retain his title.
