The preempted edition of AEW Collision took a major hit airing outside of its timeslot on a competitive Saturday.

The August 3 episode from Arlington averaged 189,000 viewers and 100,000 viewers (0.08) in the 18-49 demographic, which represented a decreased viewership of 51% and 37% from the previous week’s show in its regular slot. (Data courtesy: Wrestlenomics)

The overall viewership would represent the lowest in Collision’s history and second lowest 18-49 audience with the caveat that it was airing outside its normal slot. The show aired against the Summer Olympics, the UFC card on ABC from Abu Dhabi, and the WWE pre-show before SummerSlam.

Collision aired from 5-7 p.m. ET on TNT and saw a significant decline among the core demos. Males in the 18-49 demo dropped from 110,000 viewers to 68,000 this week with female viewership in the category dropping from 49,000 to 32,000.

The demo that held up surprisingly well was the 18-34 audience, which only fell from 36,000 to 32,000, or an 11% drop. Males averaged 20,000 last week and 19,000 for this past Saturday’s episode while females fell from 16,000 to 13,000.

It wasn’t a similar retention among the 35-49 demographic, which fell by 45% with an average of 68,000 viewers.

Collision included an eight-man tag main event with Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe & FTR defeating Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett & Beast Mortos.

Collision returns to its normal time at 8 p.m. ET this Saturday with another episode from the Esports Stadium in Texas.
