AEW had a small increase with this week’s Dynamite viewership on TBS while scoring a four-month high in Canada.
The August 7 episode from Winston-Salem averaged 622,000 viewers and 257,000 (0.19) in the 18-49 demographic, according to PW Torch and Wrestlenomics.
The figure saw a modest increase from last week’s average of 608,000 viewers and 0.18. It was still Dynamite’s third-lowest viewership of the year while airing against coverage of the Summer Olympics.
In the 18-49 demo, females grew by 13% to an average of 86,000 and males were up by 10% with 171,000 viewers.
The area hurt the most was the 18-34 demographic, which dropped from 95,000 viewers last week to 54,000 for this week’s episode. Males in the demo fell by 50% and females declined by 29%.
The show performed better in the 35-49 category with a 49% gain from last week and averaging 203,000 viewers in the demo.
Wrestlenomics reports that the show’s peak was the opening quarter with MJF taking on Kyle Fletcher and averaging 822,000 viewers and 309,000 in the demo. This indicates the audience was there but tuned out in large amounts and dropped 24% in viewership by the third quarter of the show.
Dynamite attracted its largest audience in Canada since March 27 with an average of 137,900 viewers and 76,200 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2. The show ranked fourth among sports programs on Wednesday behind the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles and coverage of the game.
