The first episode of AEW Dynamite following the end of the Olympics saw the program top Wednesday’s cable rankings.

The August 14 episode from Norfolk averaged 703,000 viewers and 305,000 viewers (0.23) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics.

It was Dynamite’s best performance in both categories since July 24, which featured Blood & Guts and the last episode before the start of the Olympics.

Dynamite’s viewership grew by 13% while the core demographic was up by 19% from last week.

Adults 18-34 recovered with an increase from 54,000 viewers last week to 91,000 viewers as males nearly doubled.

Adults 35-49 were consistent with last week with a 5% uptick in the demographic.

However, the show fell significantly in Canada averaging 36,100 viewers and 26,200 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2, which was down from 137,900 viewers and 76,200 in the demo last week without an easy explanation for the dramatic decrease. Dynamite ranked #10 among sports programming for the night, which was led by the Toronto Blue Jays vs. L.A. Angels, which drew a normal audience for a Jays game.
