Orange Cassidy also speaks about The Conglomeration.
While at San Diego Comic-Con, Orange Cassidy sat down with That Hashtag Show for an interview. Their chat shifted over to the topic of CHIKARA, where Cassidy wrestled for 14 years of his career.
He was asked to think of CHIKARA alumni that he’d like to see join AEW and two names he mentioned were Hallowicked and UltraMantis Black.
You know, Hallowicked is always one of those guys that — I think Hallowicked is one of the best wrestlers that I’ve ever wrestled. UltraMantis Black is also a very unique character but that’s the thing. It’s like, CHIKARA was known for this over-the-top, type of character-driven style but I think people are starting to come around to that and I think these guys would fit right in anywhere. There’s so many people in CHIKARA. Most of them are here (in AEW) so…
Continuing on the topic of CHIKARA, AEW official Bryce Remsburg spent many years with the promotion as well. Cassidy stated that Remsburg is the ‘unsung hero’ of both CHIKARA and All Elite Wrestling.
Bryce (Remsburg) is the unsung hero of CHIKARA and also the unsung hero of AEW. He does so much. Not only referee the hardest matches… Every time he refs an MJF match, I feel like he gets beat up more and more. He got Canadian Destroyed. Who does that? And I’ve been fortunate to have my entire career, Bryce has been there, you know, helping me along the way and he’s still helping me now to this day so, I’m very grateful for Bryce Remsburg.
Present day on AEW TV, Cassidy is a member of The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Tomohiro Ishii, Willow Nightingale, Kyle O’Reilly & Mark Briscoe). He spoke about the formation of that group.
My secret (to making friends) is finding a bunch of people that are in the same situation that you are and then getting together and dealing with it together and I think there’s a lot of times where we feel that we’re isolated and alone but if you really look around and ask around, a lot of people that feel the same way that you do and you can all band together and become friends. The Conglomeration is all about that. There are people that have been going through the same stuff that I’ve been going through. Maybe sometimes even worse and we all get together and it’s Willow (Nightingale), Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe and Tomohiro Ishii. We’re all going through the same kind of things in our lives right now so we band together, and those guys are way tougher than me. So, of course I’m gonna hang out with them. Have you seen Mark Briscoe? He’s crazy. Kyle will kick your chest in. Let those guys do all that. That’s great.
Conglomeration members Willow Nightingale and Ishii will be in tag team action at All In on the Zero Hour against Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway.
As for Cassidy, he’ll be part of the Casino Gauntlet with the winner earning a shot at the AEW World Championship.
