When Punk received word about the news, he reached out to HBK.

WWE NXT’s run on the USA Network is coming to an end as the brand will be moving over to The CW network. That transition will kick off on October 1st when NXT emanates from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Being advertised for the show is CM Punk. Two months out from NXT’s debut on The CW, the brand’s overseer Shawn Michaels made the media rounds and he guest appeared on 103.5 KISS FM. He shared that when Punk first got word that NXT would be near Chicago, he volunteered to be part of the show.

Well look, I’ll tell you what, as soon as this announcement came out, (CM) Punk texted me and he was like, ‘Anything I can do? Any opportunity? Anything that I could do. Any role,’ and look, for us, for NXT, one, he’s just been an incredible supporter of NXT since he’s been back and I have to say that when he heard about this event, he volunteered himself. Right now, we’re still kind of working that out but I’m telling you, you have the opportunity to have one of the biggest global superstars in all of WWE offer to be a part of your show, clearly, you take advantage of that so, we’re certainly gonna do that. He’s gonna have a major role. We haven’t quite defined what that is yet. But I can promise you, it’ll be something big going down on October 1st with CM Punk in NXT.

Also on the docket for NXT is their No Mercy Premium Live Event on September 1st. Both Ethan Page and Roxanne Perez’s opponent for that P.L.E. are going to be determined on 8/20.
