A big episode of Smackdown is set to go down when the Friday night brand heads to the Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C. next week. Two titles will be on the line, as well as other champions in action.
Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford of The Street Profits will get a crack at the WWE Tag Team Championships, making them the first team to challenge The Bloodline’s Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga since they earned the belts earlier this month.
Dawkins and Ford secured the title match with a #1 contenders match victory this week, overcoming recent champs #DIY. If successful, the Street Profits will secure their first tag titles since early 2021, when they had a run with the Smackdown tag belts.
WWE United States Champion LA Knight will also put his title on the line against Santos Escobar. This match was made after Escobar challenged Knight during video package which showed him at dinner with Legado Del Fantasma. Knight accepted the offer shortly after the video aired.
Similar to the tag match, the upcoming appearance for Knight will be his first time defending the title he currently possesses. He just recently earned the belt at Summerslam, overcoming Logan Paul in 12 minutes.
A six-woman tag match will also take place next week, as the trio of Naomi, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill will face off against Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, and Blair Davenport. This match comes just after Davenport defeated Naomi on this week’s episode of Smackdown.
