Gail Kim on Roxanne Perez: She lives up to ‘The Prodigy’

The slight amount of time that Gail Kim has spent around Roxanne Perez has been more than enough to make her a fan.

Through her work as a TNA Wrestling producer, Kim once worked with Perez in 2022 for a match on Impact Wrestling. Back when Perez went by Rok-C and carried the ROH Women’s World Championship, she squared off against Deonna Purrazzo for a title match that went 14 minutes in total.

Kim recalled the match during an interview on the GABBY AF podcast, mentioned her experience with Perez, and where she feels the champ is at as a wrestler.

I got to produce her one match when she was in TNA, she did the ROH women’s title against Deonna Purrazzo in the main event for Impact. That match in itself, woah, I got goosebumps just thinking about it. I actually saw her last night because I go to NXT because we have talent there and I have to drive up every week to just be there as a TNA representative. I saw her and I never really got to talk to her since I saw her match at Great American Bash two weeks ago. They [Perez and Thea Hail] were the main event and they killed it. I just told her, I was like ‘That match. Chef’s kiss, you know?’ I love women’s wrestling and those two, they laid it all out there. They had match of the night to me, 100 percent. She is a natural, obviously. What’s her nickname, The Prodigy? She lives up to the name, she really does. I can’t wait to see what she does on the main roster. I think it’s about that time soon.

Kim also spoke about Jordynne Grace, mentioning that she has seen the top TNA women’s talent grow since joining the promotion. “She really has earned her top girl status with us,” she said. “She talks the talk, she walks the walk. And she deserves everything that she has today.”
