Before attention turns back to AEW’s tour of the U.K. happening this weekend, the promotion presented a week of Rampage from the Esports Arena in Arlington, Texas. This week’s show included tag wins for many rising teams, a victory for Roderick Strong, and an in-ring AEW return for Mina Shirakawa. Here’s what went down.

Quick results

  1. The Conglomeration (Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe & Tomohiro Ishii) def. Brian Cage, Johnny TV & The Beast Mortos (12:19)
  2. Roderick Strong def. Fuego Del Sol (3:20)
  3. Mina Shirakawa def. Robyn Renegade (7:40)
  4. Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) def. Iron Savages (Boulder & Bronson) (3:07)
  5. Marshall von Erich & Ross von Erich def. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) (9:50)

The Conglomeration score another victory

Trios action kicked off the night, as The Conglomeration’s Kyle O’Reilly, Mark Briscoe and Tomohiro Ishii faced the team of Brian Cage, Johnny TV and The Beast Mortos. On last week’s episode of Rampage, The Conglomeration subbed out O’Reilly in place for Orange Cassidy to pick up a tag match victory. Roderick Strong, who will wrestle later on the show, was on commentary for this match.

“Meat” chants broke out early in the match as Mortos and Ishii collided repeatedly. The moment eventually caused them to both fall flat on their backs.

Briscoe overcame a three-on-one situation during the match, using his strikes to take out the trio one-by-one. He tried for a Jay Driller, but had the move stopped by Cage who scored a Flatliner. O’Reilly got into the ring to take out Cage but was hit with a Samoan Drop. Ishii took out Mortos, Johnny TV got him out of the ring. Briscoe kicked Johnny TV out.

Briscoe set up a steel chair in the ring, hoping to use it as a launchpad for a dive to the outside. However, Taya Valkyrie was able to remove the chair from the ring and stop the dive.

Johnny TV and Mortos scored dives, then Briscoe recovered his chair for the dive that was planned before. After a few quick tags between The Conglomeration, O’Reilly scored a brainbuster into an armbar on Johnny TV for The Conglomeration to win.

Roderick Strong picks up quick

Roderick Strong’s music hit. He left the commentary table and went immediately to the ring, as it was time for his match. In one-on-one action, Texas’ own Fuego Del Sol faced Strong.

While Del Sol has appeared in ROH frequently since the promotion started their residency in Arlington last month, this was his first AEW appearance since early 2023.

Strong delivered an absolutely nasty sequence of moves to win the match, slamming Del Sol onto the top turnbuckle and then connecting with a backbreaker to win in three minutes. Strong and O’Reilly had a brief face-to-face on the ramp after the match.

In her first AEW singles match since late June, Mina Shirakawa took on Robyn Renegade. After losing to Toni Storm at Forbidden Door 2024, Shirakawa went back to Japan for a tour with STARDOM. She has appeared at a pair of recent ROH tapings in Texas, but this weekend marked her first return appearance under the AEW banner.

Renegade had control of the match for a minute or so coming out of a lengthy commercial break, although her streak came to a sudden end with Shirakawa caught her in a Figure Four for the submission finish.

Backstage, Hikaru Shida expressed frustration about her loss last week on Dynamite against Mercedes Mone. She proclaimed that she would not be an “afterthought” and would become a champion again. “I will be the ace of this division, and maybe I need to start showing everyone what that really means,” she said.

Von Erichs score win to end AEW’s residency in Arlington, Texas

Appearing on AEW programming for the first time this month, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona of the Gates of Agony faced Boulder and Bronson of the Iron Savages. The match had a real clash between heavy hitters early, as Boulder and Liona went back-and-forth with moves. It didn’t take long for the Gates of Agony to secure a win, scoring a double-team powerbomb to earn a pinfall in three minutes.

This week’s Rampage closed out with a match that saw Marshall and Ross von Erich take on Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd of The Outrunners. The Von Erichs were accompanied by their ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions partner, Dustin Rhodes.

A large portion of the match took place during a commercial break, as the show returned with just about five minutes to go. Marshall received a hot tag late in the match, teeing off against Floyd and Magnum with strikes. He scored a cannonball in the corner, came off the ropes for a massive moonsault, then applied the famous claw submission. Ross put Mangum in the claw, and Marhsall applied it to Floyd for a pinfall victory.

A brawl ended the fight, as the Gates of Agony and the Undisputed Kingdom started to brawl. The Conglomeration also hit the ring as the brawl continued, clearing out the heels before the show went off air.
