Castagnoli emerges victorious.
CMLL presented their International Grand Prix elimination match on 8/23 at Arena México. Emerging victorious was Claudio Castagnoli, who bested Volador Jr. for the win.
Castagnoli was presented with a trophy by the Embassy of Switzerland in Mexico.
He represented Team International (AKIRA, Claudio Castagnoli, Davey Boy Smith Jr., Flip Gordon, Ikuro Kwon, Kyle Fletcher, Mansoor, Robbie X, Rocky Romero & Yota Tsuji). They clashed with Team Mexico (Atlantis Jr., Esfinge, Euforia, Máscara Dorada, Templario, Titán, Ultimo Guerrero, Valiente & Volador Jr.).
Castagnoli was in action at AEW Dynamite in Cardiff, Wales on 8/21 and went to a time limit draw with Kazuchika Okada in their International Championship match.
