Joe looks back on that period of his career with fond memories.

2024 marks the 24th year of Samoa Joe’s pro wrestling career. He spent multiple years with Ring of Honor and captured the company’s World, Pure and Television Championships.

As Joe was the focus of a Q&A at Terrificon 2024 (via Fandom Spotlite), he was asked to name his favorite company that he’s worked for and he named ROH.

I’ve been asked this a few times (which company is my favorite that I’ve worked for). I’ve had super positive experiences in every company I’ve worked for. So, it’s like, I don’t have probably a lot of the hardship stories a lot of other wrestlers do as far as dealing with companies. If I was really gutting into my head, really gotta come up with an answer, ROH, but it was only because I was so hands-on in everything that there was there and in the building and that, you know, if I didn’t draw, the company was pretty much screwed. If we didn’t draw, the company was pretty much screwed so, it was a lot more kind of pressure on us. We were very much responsible for every bit of success that we had to garner out there so I mean just from that environment and that aspect and being young and traveling. Like I said, the punk rock atmosphere of the ROH crowd. Yeah, that’s something I really look back on and enjoy.

The Ring of Honor brand crowned several new champions in the last month. Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs (Marshall Von Erich & Ross Von Erich) won the World Six-Man Tag Titles.

In addition to that, the duo of Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes went on to capture the ROH World Tag Team Titles.
