Riddle states that him and Reigns are good.

While Matt Riddle was still under contract to WWE, he did a media interview and stated that he could beat Roman Reigns in a legitimate fight. That began to circulate and later on, Riddle wrote an apology and it was rewritten by Randy Orton. Reigns ultimately did not accept it.

To promote MLW Summer of the Beasts on 8/29, Riddle spoke to the New York Post. He further addressed his past comment about Reigns and what came after that. He stated that Roman and him are ‘good.’

This isn’t a flex, this is the truth (Riddle reflected on his comment about Roman Reigns). If I didn’t think I could, I wouldn’t say it. You don’t hear me saying I can beat up Bobby Lashley, you know, maybe on a good day. Or a Brock Lesnar, maybe on a good day.

I think when he saw how professional I am in the ring and I also explained why things were said and I wasn’t just trying to call you out. I know my place in WWE but when someone tells me to cut a promo on you, I’m gonna cut a promo on you. I think he understood that. Still wasn’t happy about it, but understood. Me and Roman, we’re good.

Former WWE host Matt Camp recalled when Riddle was an in-studio guest on The Bump. Reigns was scheduled to appear via satellite on that same episode. He stated that Riddle was purposely kept off the set until Reigns was off the video screen.
