Candid responses from Anderson.

The O.C. (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) have consistently been wrestling for WWE’s NXT brand since February.

As Anderson was recording a new episode of the Talk’n Shop podcast, he opened up about his current booking. That came about as he responded to a Reddit comment which read that 2012 Karl Anderson would be ‘appalled’ by the booking of 2024 Anderson.

He (Reddit poster) said, ‘2012 Karl Anderson would be appalled at 2024 Karl Anderson’s booking,’ and that made me laugh. I mean, it’s funny because it is funny to say that. But, I have to say this: That’s a funny statement, I’m glad I read that, it was hilarious. But if 2012 Karl Anderson could have even invented in his brain what was to come in the next 12 years, if Karl Anderson from 2012 to 2024 could see the vision of all the stuff he was gonna do for 12 years… if Karl Anderson could stand there and see the next 12 years from 2012, he would have been blown away and he would have said, bring it. I want all of it. Man, as I sit here and think about it, it takes me back. Standing in those G1 rings in 2012 and I stood in G1 rings. I was in G1 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. Did all those G1s. In 2008 and 2009, I wasn’t in the tournaments but I was in — I was there. I was there and I remember seeing it and watching it and going, ‘Wow. These are amazing…’

The focus of the podcast was Anderson’s run in the 2012 NJPW G1 Climax. He remembers joining the Great Bash Heel group and said he ended up being their ‘fall guy.’

Anderson added that that’s not a negative but to this day, he feels ‘probably’ his problem is he will not say no to the promoter.

And I joined, at the time, the very famous group of Togi Makabe and (Toru) Yano’s G.B.H. (Great Bash Heel). Now, I ended up being their fall guy and there’s nothing wrong with that. That was an amazing start with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and I don’t mean I became their ‘fall guy’ in a bad way. I’m still — probably my problem — I’ll do anything that the promoter tells me to do. I just do it. I’m not the kind that sits out. I might complain here or there, to somebody else but I’m not the one to look at the promoter and say, ‘I’m not doing that,’ or whatever. I just do what I’m told.

On the 8/20 installment of NXT, Anderson and Gallows fell in defeat to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. The duo are 6-6 in tag matches on the NXT brand in 2024.
