CM Punk def. Drew McIntyre in Strap match at WWE Bash in Berlin

The score is now 1-1.

At WWE Bash in Berlin, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre had the second singles match of their rivalry. The stipulation was a Strap match. The way to win was to touch all four corner pads in the ring.

Punk was busted open during the match and McIntyre put him through a table. There was a point in the bout when Punk put McIntyre in a sharpshooter which caused McIntyre to tap, but it had no effect on the result of the match.

Drew went on to pull out the bracelet that has the name of A.J. Mendez (A.J. Lee) and Punk’s dog Larry on it. Punk regained control of the match and hit McIntyre with four consecutive GTS’.

Before touching the final corner pad, he took the bracelet off McIntyre’s wrist and then officially picked up the win. It was the five-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s first WWE singles win since January 2014. The score between Punk and Drew is now 1-1.

Post-match, Punk went ringside to celebrate with UFC fighter Oban Elliot. In late July, Elliot hinted that he’d be in Berlin for the Premium Live Event. He expressed that he wants Punk to walk out with him for a UFC fight.
