Cody Rhodes addresses Vince McMahon-Netflix docuseries, Janel Grant’s sex trafficking lawsuit at WWE Bash in Berlin press conference

Cody Rhodes steps in for Paul ‘Triple’ Levesque.

Starting off the WWE Bash in Berlin press conference was Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Along the way, Rhodes was asked about the docuseries that Netflix is releasing about Vince McMahon on September 25th. That was followed up on by Rhodes being asked about Janel Grant’s sex trafficking lawsuit against McMahon.

As far as the docuseries, Rhodes thinks there’s misinformation regarding WWE’s involvement. He addressed the reporter’s comment about the locker room being silent about the lawsuit. He said they’re finding out information just as the public are. Rhodes added that it’s not an active attempt to be silent and they’re just doing their day-to-day business.

He was asked if he believes Grant’s accusations. Rhodes stated that he does not know enough information about the situation to answer that.

Other highlights from Rhodes’ scrum session are listed as follows:

  • Revealed that Raw is coming to Netflix on January 6th.
  • Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque was absent. He was away to send his daughter off to college. Rhodes talked about the analytics of Bash in Berlin.
  • Rhodes was asked about opening shows as Undisputed WWE Champion and if he’s worried about his ‘poster boy’ position. He’s not insecure, but it would be naïve to not acknowledge it. He spoke about the top talent that he shares the space with and thinks it’s a great problem to have.
  • He joked that if he were to talk about the some of the record-grossing events, people would think it’s a ‘Cody lie.’
  • Addressed Randy Orton eyeing his title. He stated that a present-day bout between them would be very different than the match they had when he first got to Raw. Rhodes said a lot would have to happen for that bout to take place. He’s not backing away from it but right now, there are no plans for it.
  • He praised Shawn Daivari and Chris Park (Abyss) for producing the house shows in Germany.
