WWE Bash in Berlin notes: GUNTHER retains World Title, Cody Rhodes def. Kevin Owens, highest-grossing arena event

Closing out WWE Bash in Berlin was the World Heavyweight Championship match between Randy Orton and the champion GUNTHER. During the ring announcements, Ludwig Kaiser joined the ring to take over for Samantha Irvin so he could introduce GUNTHER. The World Heavyweight Championship remains in GUNTHER’s possession as he choked Orton out. The two talents shook hands afterwards. As the post-show got underway, Cathy Kelley conducted an interview with GUNTHER and he addressed the audience.

Kicking off the show was Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Title against Kevin Owens. Throughout the bout, Owens hesitated to go after Rhodes’ ‘injured’ knee. Those hesitations led to Rhodes retaining. Both him and Owens embraced one another post-match.

On the Kickoff show, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque said Bash in Berlin is now the highest-grossing arena event in WWE history.

There were 13,149 people in attendance at the Uber Arena in Berlin.

The next main roster Premium Live Even is Bad Blood on October 5th in Atlanta, Georgia. The show is starting at 6 PM EST. PWInsider reported that the show is starting early so it does not go against UFC 307 that night which starts at 10 PM EST.

Despite interference from Finn Bálor, J.D. McDonagh and Carlito, the duo of Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest defeated Dominik Mysterio and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in a mixed tag. Ripley pinned Morgan.
