Yoshinari Ogawa to become a coach for Pro Wrestling NOAH

In August, a sudden announcement was pushed out from Pro Wrestling NOAH that Yoshinari Ogawa would be retiring from in-ring competition, effective immediately. Ogawa requested that there be no press conference or retirement match.

He guest commented at the N-1 Victory final show and revealed that he’ll remain with NOAH as a coach.

When asked about his retirement, he stated that it is due to his neck and a doctor told him to stop wrestling. He added that he has some regrets, but he had been thinking about his age whenever he wrestled.

Ogawa said if there’s a need for it, he’d like to be invited back to commentary. He is 57 years of age and held the promotion’s GHC Heavyweight, Junior Heavyweight Tag Team, GHC Tag Team and Junior Heavyweight Titles.
