Iizuka is coming back to NJPW.

The 2024 NJPW G1 Climax tournament wrapped up on August 18th and since then, the company has not ran any events in Japan. They’ll be resuming shows for their Destruction tour that starts on September 6th.

On the 14th, they’ll be presenting a 20-man Ranbo and one of the competitors set for the bout is three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion Takashi Iizuka.

He last competed for NJPW in a Ranbo match at Wrestle Kingdom 18

Iizuka retired from full-time in-ring competition in February 2019. Joining Iizuka in the upcoming Ranbo match will be independent wrestler Yuma 24.
