Jericho is looking to make more CMLL appearances.
The September 4th edition of CMLL Informa aired and it featured an interview with Chris Jericho. He is scheduled to make his in-ring return to the company at their 91st Anniversary Show and he’ll be facing Místico.
It’ll be Jericho’s first match under the CMLL banner since 1995. He expressed that he’d like to appear more often for CMLL. Jericho is interested in participating in the Grand Prix and doing a mask versus hair match.
Yeah, I remember. I think I wrestled Atlantis at the first Grand Prix, if I remember correctly. Once again, I have such a great story and such a great history in Mexico that it makes perfect sense to come back to wrestle as much as I can. I would love to be in the Grand Prix and I would love to do a mask versus hair match. All of the things that I’ve done in Mexico in the past, I would love to return to again. It’s amazing to me that it took 30 years to return to Arena México. But I don’t think that this match versus Místico is the only time that I’ll return. I would like to come back many times. I love wrestling in Mexico, I love the fans and there’s so many great luchadores in CMLL. Like I said, there’s no reason why I can’t come back many, many times.
The 2024 CMLL International Grand Prix was won by fellow AEW talent Claudio Castagnoli.
As for the 91st Anniversary, joining Jericho on the card from AEW will be Willow Nightingale, who is scheduled to defend her CMLL World Women’s Championship against Zeuxis.
