Daniel Garcia wrestled in 2022 PWG Battle of Los Angeles tournament with food poisoning

Day two of the tourney was rough for Garcia.

Going into his grudge match against MJF at AEW All Out, Daniel Garcia is making the media rounds to promote the show. One of his stops was a chat with Good Karma Wrestling

When asked to name his most surreal career moment, he brought up winning the 2022 PWG Battle of Los Angeles tournament. He revealed that he wrestled in the tourney with food poisoning.

Honestly, I think it’s probably winning PWG Battle of Los Angeles (Garcia responded when asked what’s been the most surreal moment of his career). That was a crazy day. I did it with food poisoning. It was insane. I think that’s like the most unreal, I can’t believe this has happened moment that I’ve had in my wrestling career for sure… Yes, yes (I wrestled in the tournament with food poisoning). So, we had the first night. I wrestled Kevin Blackwood night one. Then, a bunch of us went out to eat to JOEY D.T.L.A. in downtown LA. We went to eat there and we were eating everything. We got sushi, chicken parmesan. We got everything, and anybody who ate something that wasn’t vegan, we all got food poisoning. So, I got food poisoning for the next day. I had to wrestle like three matches and one of them was like a 30-minute match with ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey so, it was a task and I think that’s why I look back on that night so fondly just because it was something so difficult to get through but I got through it and I did my best and I delivered. So, I think that’s why I think about it so highly, because it was so hard.

Day two of Garcia’s 2022 B.O.L.A. schedule included matches with Black Taurus, Alex Shelley and a 20-plus minute bout against ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey in the tourney final.
