DOUKI is game.

San Jose, California hosted NJPW x CMLL Fantasticamania: Lucha Libre USA that took place in July. The main event of the show saw Rocky Romero and Volador Jr. fall in defeat to IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion DOUKI and MLW World Middleweight Champion Místico.

After the bout, Místico spoke on the microphone and proposed the idea of doing a title versus title match against DOUKI. In a new interview with NJPW1972.com, DOUKI said he does not know if Místico was serious, but if he is, he’s game to do the match. He feels it’d be better if it took place in Mexico.

We-ell, maybe the Japanese fans might not realize this, but Místico tends to challenge people to mask versus mask and title matches in every venue he’s in (laughs).

It got a good reaction, so I don’t know whether he was serious or just saying it for the pop. But if he’s serious, I want to do it. If we did it in Mexico, it would be ten times the heat in Sendai. The crowd would be 1,000 percent for him so that would be a lot of fun.

DOUKI has been reigning as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion since early July. His first defense of the belt is taking place at NJPW Road to Destruction on September 11th against Taiji Ishimori.
