It is official that on 9/23, Jey Uso will challenge Bron Breakker for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The two talents met in the ring on the 9/16 program and Breakker stated that he’s done more in six months on the main roster than Jey has done in 14 years at WWE. Jey said Bron’s title reign may be short and sweet like his NFL career which led to the champion initiating physicality. Jey ended up spearing Breakker but after the main event between Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio, Uso attempted to help fight off Judgment Day, but Breakker speared him.
There was a World Tag Team Title match that saw Finn Bálor and J.D. McDonagh retain over New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods). Woods had J.D. pinned, but the referee was distracted with the fallout of a brawl between Judgment Day and the LWO (Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro). Woods previously expressed that he did not want anyone getting involved in the match even if it was to help New Day. He expressed his frustration to Kingston about what went down and said something has to change. Backstage, Woods argued with the L.W.O. but Kofi informed him that he reached out to the group about their assistance. He then brought up New Day no longer having Big E and Woods responded by saying he has no idea what is happening anymore.
IYO SKY stated that Kairi Sane has an injured arm and could not compete in a singles match against Women’s Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair. IYO filled in and scored a win over Belair.
American Made (Chad Gable, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed & Ivy Nile) expressed that they’re done with The Wyatt Sicks (Bo Dallas, Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis). American Made lost a Street Fight to the group on 9/9.

While backstage, Finn Bálor told Rhea Ripley that he was the one who egged Dominik Mysterio on to side with Liv Morgan.
The scheduled singles match between Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed did not get underway. Reed ran into a turnbuckle and the top rope snapped. He then stopped Strowman from charging at him by tossing a ‘fan’ directly into Strowman. Strowman would end up running Reed through a barricade. Their fight made its way backstage where both talents went through a wall.
Sami Zayn once again called out GUNTHER for a World Heavyweight Title opportunity. Ludwig Kaiser joined the ring and Zayn tried to convince him that he does not need GUNTHER. Kaiser pretended to feed in, but he attacked Zayn and GUNTHER denied him a title shot. Ludwig intended on continuing to go after Zayn, but Zayn took him out. Zayn versus Kaiser is set for 9/23.
Pete Dunne picked up a win over Sheamus and used a Cricket bat to secure the win. They’re tied 1-1 in singles matches.
