Tyrese Haliburton hosts Ethan Page/Trick Williams contract signing, CM Punk revealed as guest referee for NXT Title match

The NBA All-Star handled the proceedings.

To start out the 9/17 NXT on USA Network, General Manager Ava attempted to get the contract signing for Ethan Page and Trick Williams’ NXT Championship match on the CW premiere show done. It went left when they came to blows and Page sent Williams through a table.

Appearing later in the show was NBA Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton. He offered to handle the contract signing. Seated front row for Haliburton’s appearance were members of the Indiana Pacers such as Obi Toppin and Myles Turner.

The contract was signed by both Page and Williams, but before Haliburton exited the ring, he called for someone’s music to be played and out came CM Punk. Punk appeared earlier in the show to make an announcement, but he was interrupted by NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and never got around to it.

His announcement was that he’ll be the special guest referee for Page versus Williams on the NXT on CW premiere on October 1st.
