Ahead of the NXT on CW premiere on October 1st, there is going to be a press conference with the talents who’ll be in action that night. Scheduled for the presser is NXT Champion Ethan Page, Trick Williams, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, Giulia, Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz.
It was revealed in the final segment of the show that CM Punk will be the special guest referee for Ethan Page and Trick Williams’ NXT Championship match on 10/1. He appeared earlier in the show to make that announcement, but he did not get around to it because he was interrupted by Roxanne Perez. Perez said Punk is like a hero to her, but she always preferred A.J. Mendez (A.J. Lee). Perez added that she should have been a Drew McIntyre fan and claimed Punk wants one more moment in the sun before McIntyre ends his career inside Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood. She then referenced Punk’s ‘tell me when I’m telling lies’ promo from when he kicked off the debut of AEW Collision. Punk stated that he used to have a chip on his shoulder that was the same size as Perez. Giulia would join the fray and she told Perez she has two weeks left as champion. Punk stopped Perez from hitting Giulia with the belt.

Tony D’Angelo asked TNA’s Hammerstone to go to Ava and ask for another match against North American Champion Oba Femi. Hammerstone was paid by D’Angelo to take out Femi on 9/10, but he failed to do so. Hammerstone told D’Angelo no, so Tony got a match set up between himself and Hammerstone. As the match went on, D’Angelo opted not to return to the ring and Hammerstone got the win via count out. Tony later admitted to The Family (Adriana Rizzo, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino) that he’s afraid of Femi. Later on, Rizzo convinced D’Angelo to face his fear and go after Femi again. Oba bested D’Angelo at NXT No Mercy.

Zachary Wentz appeared and showed footage of Wes Lee attacking Trey Miguel in a parking lot, which is why The Rascalz were not able to challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles on 9/10. Wentz said it all ends with Lee in their Street Fight on 10/1.
The duo of Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley defeated Wendy Choo and Rosemary. Valkyria pinned Rosemary.
