Orange Cassidy (w/ Kyle O’Reilly & Mark Briscoe) vs. Chris Jericho (w/ Big Bill & Bryan Keith)

As the bell rings, Big Bill, Bryan Keith, Mark Briscoe & Kyle O’Reilly all join in the ring as all six men start brawling, before the four men not in the match take it to the outside where Orange Cassidy takes out Bill & Keith with a dive, followed by one from Briscoe. Chris Jericho teases diving also, just to do his ‘Hi guys!’ pose and run into an Orange Punch, as Cassidy gets a two. Cassidy was going to go for another one, but Jericho escaped to the outside and got hit with a tope suicida from Cassidy. They fight on the outside, with Cassidy hitting a forearm over the barricade, before hitting a splash back inside for two. They fight on the top rope before Cassidy pushes Jericho off and tries a diving DDT, just to be caught right into the Walls of Jericho, which Cassidy turns into a two count. Jericho hits a running power slam and stays in control delivering chops to Cassidy as the crowd starts chanting ‘Please retire’ to Jericho. Jericho knocks Cassidy off the apron before he continues to attack him on the outside. Jericho grabs the camera for a bit while he continues to attack, before sending Cassidy back inside and hitting a double axe handle from the top rope. Jericho follows with a Lion Sault for two, but Cassidy comes back with a Stundog Millionaire and Michinoku Driver for two. Cassidy tries an elbow drop from the top rope, but Jericho stops him with his knees before he gets sent to the outside, where he catches a diving Cassidy and sends him right into the barricade with a slingshot. They start fighting on top of an equipment case before Jericho sends them both crashing through the timekeeper’s table with a back suplex as we go to picture-in-picture.

After the commercials, they are back in the ring until Cassidy sends Jericho into the corner where he starts stomping away until Jericho comes right back with a big clothesline for two. On the top rope, Cassidy pushes Jericho off and hits a crossbody, but Jericho comes right back with the Walls of Jericho. Cassidy is able to crawl over to the bottom rope, but Aubrey Edwards misses it as Big Bill takes out Cassidy with a big boot as Jericho gets two. O’Reilly runs back out and fights with Bill to the back. Cassidy is unable to hit the Beach Break, as Jericho turns it into a Death Valley Driver for a two count. Cassidy stops Jericho with a pair of DDTs, heads to the top rope, and hits a diving DDT, but Jericho kicks out at two. Cassidy goes for the Orange Punch, but Jericho stops it with a Codebreaker, as Cassidy kicks out at two. Cassidy comes back with the Beach Break, as Jericho kicks out again. Bryan Keith runs out as Mark Briscoe runs out and starts fighting with him. As Aubrey is distracted by this, Jericho tries to use a roll of quarters, just for Cassidy to steal it from him and hit the Orange Punch with the quarters to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Orange Cassidy by pinfall at 19:30

What Will Yuta Do

We see footage from after Dynamite last week as PAC is asking Wheeler Yuta where he is. They are still the Trios Champions and they haven’t heard from him. Next week, they have a title defense and Yuta better show up. Claudio Castagnoli says he’s disappointed as he thought he told Yuta better and tells him to do him a favor and show up next week. Jon Moxley chimes in and says that Yuta has the strength inside him to do the right thing and it’s his choice. He’s free to leave and he’s not trapped, but he has a personal responsibility to the greater good and he has to look himself in the mirror every morning into what kind of a man did they teach him to be.

Alex Marvez is getting word from Yuta who is leaving the arena (at 8:30?) and asks him what we just saw. Yuta says he’s conflicted and says he worked his entire career and has to focus on WrestleDream as Marvez tells him it’s Grand Slam, not WrestleDream. A stagehand gives him the Trios title that he forgot behind, as Yuta quotes Bryan Danielson and says if they want to defend these titles at Grand Slam, then next week he will kick who’s ever ass he has to.

Hook vs. JD Ink

Roderick Strong joins the commentary and tries to get Hook’s attention as he’s coming out, but gets ignored. JD Ink starts talking trash at the bell but gets clotheslined down hard by Hook before he’s hit with a pair of suplexes. Hook hits one more over-the-head suplex before dropping cross faces and puts on the Redrum as the referee calls off the match.

Winner: Hook by submission at 1:00

Hook and Roderick Strong trade some words before Hook leaves to the back.

Alex Marvez is backstage as Private Party who said they are ready to fight and will accept their challenge for next week, before Isiah Kassidy calls out Jon Moxley as well.

Put You In The Dirt

After the break, Renee Paquette is with The Patriarchy as Christian Cage says he wants to talk about Nick Wayne’s match this Friday on Rampage against Rocky Romero, Lio Rush & Kip Sabian as they have decided for him and Wayne to hold titles at the same time. Cage tells Renee might not agree as Jon Moxley is also going after that title. Wayne walks off to talk to Sabian who’s there. Cage tells Sabian to leave them alone and if he sees his face again he will put him in the dirt right next to his father.

Serena Deeb & Mariah May vs. Queen Aminata & Yuka Sakazaki

Mariah May goes to start the match with Yuka Sakazaki, but Serena Deeb chooses to start instead to May’s surprise. This is Yuka’s first match on Dynamite in over 3 years. Deeb goes for a Dragon Screw, but Yuka turns it into a pin attempt as they go back and forth with attempts. Yuka kicks Deeb off before tagging in Queen Aminata as she and Yuka start double-teaming on Deeb sending her to the apron, as May goes to pose with her title instead as Deeb starts yelling at her. Deeb twists Aminata onto the ropes before May tags herself in, hits a big dropkick to Aminata, and knocks Yuka off the apron as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Yuka is fighting off both Deeb & May, suplexing May on top of Deeb for a two-count before taking her back down with a Thrust Kick as May is there to break it up with a big German Suplex on Yuka, as Aminata hits on on May, then gets hit by one from Deeb. Yuka hits Deeb with a Merry-Go-Round, sending Deeb to the outside where she hits everybody with a springboard splash. Yuka sends Deeb back inside and hits the Magical Girl Splash, but May breaks up the pin by hitting Yuka with her title belt, causing a disqualification.

Winners: Yuka Sakazaki & Queen Aminata by disqualification at 7:57

May starts whipping Yuka with the belt before standing tall, raising the championship.

Mina Is Coming

We go to a video from Mina Shirakawa who says she watched May win the championship at Wembley Stadium but now May has changed and she doesn’t like what she has become. They had so many good times together and they could have more, so if they want to celebrate then for everybody to get ready because Mina is coming.

After some technical difficulties, they go to a video for Nigel McGuinness, where they show the history between Nigel & Bryan Danielson in Ring of Honor with words from Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong & Jerry Lynn where they say Nigel wanted to be seen in the same way that Danielson has over the years.

Jon Moxley Speaks

As commentary continues to talk about the history of this match, they get interrupted by the music of Jon Moxley who makes his way into the arena with Claudio Castagnoli & Marina Shafir. Before they can make it to the ring, they get attacked in the crowd by Private Party. Claudio takes Marq Quen inside where he hits him with a couple of big chokebreakers, as Shafir & Moxley start dragging and attacking Isiah Kassidy around the ring. Moxley holds Kassidy as Shafir starts kicking away at him, and Komander shows up in the ring and kicks Claudio off the apron before trying to dive onto him but gets stopped with an uppercut.

Shafir then spots Alex Abrahantes, takes him out, and steals his mic as Claudio press slams Komander into the crowd. Moxley gets on the mic and says he can end Private Party’s careers for what they just did but he won’t do that. He brings up how they have been here since the beginning and have been in the same exact spot as they have been five years ago and he will give Private Party some resistance and an obstacle to overcome and says to consider this a gift before smashing Kassidy’s hand with a hammer. As they head back towards the ring, Darby Allin runs out and takes out Claudio from behind with his skateboard. Moxley & Darby end up in the ring and have a face-off before Moxley ducks a shot from the skateboard and escapes. Darby gets on the mic and says he’s not the same guy he was 5 years ago, and he will take out Moxley and then head into WrestleDream in his home state to become the World Champion.

We see a produced video for Jack Perry showing his recent matches as we see him driving in his Scapegoat bus as he says those who shape the future carry the burden by destroying the path.

Ricochet vs. The Beast Mortos

Right away The Beast Mortos sends Ricochet into the corner and starts attacking him with clotheslines and kicks before Ricochet stops him and dodges as Mortos goes spilling to the outside where Ricochet dives right onto him. Ricochet hits a springboard crossbody back inside and a running shooting star press for two. They start trading arm drags before the match comes to a standstill as the crowd starts cheering for Ricochet. Ricochet kicks Mortos off the apron and tries another dive just to be caught and hit with an apron bomb as we go to picture-in-picture.

After the break, they go back and forth in the ring before Ricochet sends Mortos into the corner and hits him with the Tiger Faint Kick followed by a springboard back elbow attempt that gets blocked after some back and forth Mortos hits a Samoan Drop for two. Ricochet comes back with an Enziguri before getting stopped with a huge headbutt but Ricochet ends up sending Mortos to the outside where he tries to dive onto him but spills over. Mortos tries a powerbomb, but Ricochet turns it into a Code Red on the outside. Back inside, Ricochet hits a springboard 450, but Mortos kicks out at two. Ricochet heads to the top rope, but Mortos joins and press slams Ricochet off, for two. Ricochet counters Mortos with a Crucifix Bomb before hitting the Vertigo to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Ricochet by pinfall at 11:30

They announce an all-star 10-man tag for Collision with Hook, FTR & The Outrunners vs. The Beast Mortos, Rush, Roderick Strong & Grizzled Young Veterans

Hangman & The Last Outlaw

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and introduces ‘Hangman’ Adam Page. Schiavone brings up how Page got the win over Swerve Strickland but how Page says it’s not done and gave a warning to anyone who would support or have Swerve’s back and asks what exactly he was talking about. Page says he knew a day like this would come when Swerve Strickland was dealt with and he would be gone and he knew that it wouldn’t be just Swerve who had to pay, as there would be dozens of others who stood behind him, protected and supported him. Page says he is surrounded by them now as they would cheer him all the way to the world championship and when he was finally locked in a cage with his fate. When he hears those voices he is reminded of the 4 months when he sat home suspended and then he remembers hearing another voice cheering him on, loud and clear before pointing his attention over to Schiavone. Page starts cornering Schiavone before Jeff Jarrett’s music plays as he runs out but gets attacked by Page who then sends him to the outside and tosses him into the crowd. They continue brawling around the ring before Page tosses Jarrett back in and tries the Buckshot Lariat, but security and officials get in between to keep them apart.

Jarrett gets on the mic and says he wouldn’t stand back there and let Page lay a finger on Schiavone and there’s a whole locker room who wants to kick Page’s ass, but Jarrett is in the front of the line and makes Page a promise to him, that if it’s the last thing he does in his career. Somehow and someplace, Jarrett will kick Page’s ass.

Ricochet Challenges Ospreay

Renee is in the back with Ricochet but Will Ospreay interrupts and congratulates him for his win and tries to shake his hand. Ricochet says Ospreay doesn’t have to be sorry for anything but he got his wins up like Ospreay told him to. From Ricochet’s perspective though, it’s been people calling him out and it seems like everybody is worried more about Ricochet than they are about Ospreay as he doesn’t see anybody trying to call him out, so he does. He knows Ospreay is busy next week, but he hopes he’s not too busy the following week so on October 2nd, at the 5 year anniversary he got himself an International Championship match against Ospreay. Ricochet ends this by saying he will be seeing Ospreay real soon, ‘Little bro’.

Will Ospreay & The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita) vs. The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson & Kazuchika Okada)

Don Callis joins the commentary table, as Kyle Fletcher & Nicholas Jackson start the match. They start running the ropes before Will Ospreay tags himself in and they take out Nicholas with a wishbone and kick, as Nicholas escapes and tags out to Kazuchika Okada. Konosuke Takeshita puts his hand out for the tag, but Ospreay tells him to hold on. Ospreay & Okada test each other out off the ropes before Okada fakes out Ospreay with a hug before getting taken down with a hurricanrana. Ospreay goes to tag Fletcher, but Takeshita slaps Ospreay in the back hard to tag himself which Ospreay doesn’t like. All six men enter and start brawling with The Elite coming out on top with springboard sentons. The Elite get sent to the outside and start posing but get stopped with dropkicks and dives from their opponents. All six keep fighting on the outside as we go to picture-in-picture.

We come back as Fletcher fights off The Young Bucks with a double clothesline before attacking them in the corner and hitting them with half-and-half suplexes. Brainbuster from Fletcher to Matthew Jackson, but he kicks out at two. Okada tags in but knocks Takeshita off the apron before going after Fletcher who stops him with a Michinoku Driver. Okada & Takeshita go at it finally as Takeshita hits a brainbuster and heads to the corner hitting a senton for a two. Everybody goes at it with the Bucks accidentally taking out Okada. Okada gets hit with a triple dropkick next, but the Bucks are there to break up the pin attempt. Takeshita gets hit with a double superkick from the Bucks but just shakes it off before he and Okada take each other down with a double clothesline. Okada stays on top of Takeshita as we go to the final picture-in-picture of the night.

When we return, everybody is in the ring until it’s just the Bucks & Takeshita as they hit the Risky Business followed by a top rope elbow drop from Okada, before The Elite flips off the crowd. Takeshita is able to duck an EVP Trigger before hitting a double German Suplex on the Bucks. Takeshita is able to tag out to Ospreay who takes out the Bucks with a backflip kick but gets stopped by Okada before running into a Bucks super kick. Nicholas hits a double stomp on Ospreay who bounces into a sitout powerbomb from Matthew but the count gets broken. Bucks start attacking Ospreay with super kicks, but he kicks out. Fletcher joins in as they hit a double-teamed spine buster for Okada to break up. All six go at it now as Takeshita reverses a Rainmaker attempt into a Blue Thunder Bomb before diving onto Okada on the outside. Bucks target Fletcher, but he escapes out of the TK Driver attempt and hits a twisting tombstone on Matthew that Nicholas breaks up. Ospreay runs in and hits a Hidden Blade on Nicholas before they hit the Coriolis on Matthew, as Fletcher gets the pin.

Winners: Will Ospreay & The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita) by pinfall at 21:05

Takeshita & Ospreay get into each other’s faces as Don Callis tries to reason between them.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Another solid outing from AEW with a very strong second hour that flew by with two excellent matches. Great job at promoting and setting up matches for Rampage, Collision as well as the 5 year Anniversary show in two weeks. The Moxley stuff still remains mysterious and after the attack on Private Party, the trios match for next week has a lot of questions such as what will Yuta do, will Isiah Kassidy be able to compete and if they do, will it be the predictable partner in Komander or will they have a nice treat for the Queens crowd and bring out the teacher of Private Party in The Amazing Red, which I think would be a pretty cool moment for all involved.
