Ann Callis, an attorney for former WWE staffer Janel Grant who is suing Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and the wrestling promotion with allegations of trafficking and sexual assault, has partnered with a prominent P.R. firm.
Callis is now represented by Kendra Barkoff Lamy of public relations and consulting firm SKDK, per a press release issued Wednesday.
Barkoff Lamy has worked in the past with survivors of numerous high-profile sexual assault cases. In 2019, she helped with a group of Harvey Weinstein survivors known as the “Silence Breakers.”
“SKDK has a proven track record of uplifting survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking,” Callis said. “We look forward to our partnership in seeking justice on behalf of our client Janel Grant.”
Barkoff Lamy joined SKDK in 2016, shortly after serving as the press secretary to Vice President Joe Biden from 2011 to 2015. She was promoted to managing director in the company in 2022 and has held the role since.
Grant herself continues to also be represented by The Agency Group.
Early this year, Grant filed a lawsuit alleging that she was trafficked by McMahon from 2019 to 2022, departing her role with the company after signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
In late May, the case was given a six-month pause due to an ongoing investigation from the Department of Justice.
