AEW ranks #2 on cable in prime time, big boost in Canadian viewership

Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite ranked second in prime-time among cable programming.

The September 18 episode from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, averaged 687,000 viewers and 301,000 viewers (0.22) in the 18-49 and ranked #2 behind Gutfeld! on Fox News among prime-time cable programming. (Data: Wrestlenomics & Programming Insider)

The show’s audience dropped by 4% this week while the core demo audience grew by 7% and beat MTV’s The Challenge: Battle of Eras in the key demo.

In the 18-49 demographic, males grew by 13% with an average of 206,000 viewers while females decreased by 5% to 95,000 viewers.

Adults 18-34 averaged 91,000 and 35-49 were at 210,000 viewers.

Dynamite peaked in viewership for the first quarter for Orange Cassidy vs. Chris Jericho averaging 782,000 viewers for the first fifteen minutes. The peak in 18-49 occurred during the 9 p.m. quarter for the BCC beatdown of Private Party and the beginning of Ricochet vs. Beast Mortos with 330,000 viewers in the demo, per Wrestlenomics.

The viewership in Canada experienced a sizable increase with 119,600 viewers and 82,700 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2. The audience grew by 70% while the demo was more than double last week’s audience. Dynamite ranked #4 for the night in sports programming and was #2 in the demo behind the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers.
