The multi-time All-Star brings up WWE during his talking point.

The newest episode of Marshawn Lynch and Mike Robinson’s Da Get Got Pod was pushed out and joining them as the featured guest was NBA Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard.

As the conversation moved along, the eight-time NBA All-Star was asked if he feels the constant shooting of deep three-pointers is hurting the league. While responding to the question, he used WWE as an example for his talking point.

I don’t think that’s what’s hurting the game (Lillard responded when asked if he thinks the constant shooting of deep three-pointers is hurting the NBA). I think — just money. They want the game to be faster. They want less stops in the game. It’s kind of catering to the viewer. They want the game to be like this and entertaining. It ain’t gonna be no throw it to the post, bang, bang. All that’s soft. It’s like, no! We wanna see finesse and we wanna see fun plays because, I mean, look at the money. Look at the money that’s coming into the league now. That’s because of the entertainment and how many people got a hand in how it’s gonna go. I don’t think the shooting is hurting the game. It’s entertainment. Look at the WWE for example. I’m not comparing ‘em. I’m just saying when I grew up watching wrestling, I thought these motherf*ckers lived in the woods like they said. I thought The Undertaker lived in the graveyard. I really thought that this was they characters and now it’s like, I’m sure they wasn’t making money like they are now, and now, these motherf*ckers walk to the ring and they got their Twitter and Instagram handle right there and you can follow them and all that. They paying for the personalities. It’s different, and I think it’s not the same for the NBA but I think the entertainment part of it is the same thing for the league so I don’t think it’s the shooting. I just think, sh*t, the game is played at a faster pace. They wanna see skills and fun. That’s what it is.

The Bucks play their home games at Fiserv Forum. WWE will be running their November 15th SmackDown event at the arena.

Sports Milwaukee is putting a bid together to bring the 2025 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event to Milwaukee. Fiserv Forum would be the host for that show.
