AEW star MJF is joining the cast of Adam Sandler movie Happy Gilmore 2.

His addition to the Netflix production was revealed on Friday by Deadline.

The former AEW World Champion’s role in the film was described as “under wraps” by Deadline. However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that he will play the title character’s son, “Gordie”.

He will join Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, who are to bring back the roles of Virginia Venit and Shooter McGavin.

Bad Bunny, who has performed for WWE, is also to appear in the production, with filming underway.

Following his acting debut in ‘The Iron Claw’, released in December 2023, MJF has kept a busy schedule in the film world. He recently finished up production on independent comedy ‘The Floaters’, co-starring with Seth Green and Aya Cash.

He also completed work on comedy-thriller ‘Stranglehold’, in which he portrays a bad guy alongside Ron Perlman.

MJF has not been seen on AEW programming since All Out, when he defeated Daniel Garcia.
