Takagi reunites with the NEVER Title.
The third championship match on the night at NJPW Destruction in Kobe was the NEVER Openweight Title match. HENARE went into the bout as champion and defended against Shingo Takagi.
The last time they went one-on-one was when HENARE won the title from Takagi at New Japan Soul in June. This go-round, it was Takagi besting HENARE to win the for a fifth time.
He scored the win with the ‘Last of the Dragon’ and HENARE landed on the top of his head. Post-match, HENARE showed he was fine and handed the belt over to Takagi.
It was HENARE’s second defense of the NEVER Openweight Championship.
