Roxanne Perez def. Giulia to retain NXT Women’s Championship with assist from Cora Jade

The returning Cora Jade provides an assist.

Kicking off the in-ring action for NXT’s debut on The CW Network was the NXT Women’s Championship match between Giulia and the champion Roxanne Perez.

The conclusion of the match saw the referee focused on Perez because she grabbed a hold of the title belt. While Giulia was on the opposite end, a hooded individual ran to ringside, ambushed Giulia and hit her with a DDT.

Perez capitalized and hit her with the ‘Pop Rox’ finisher to hand Giulia her first loss in WWE. Roxanne’s reign as NXT Women’s Champion continues.

The hooded individual revealed herself to be Cora Jade. She’s been out of action since January with a torn ACL injury. During an appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show, Perez was asked about Jade’s status and said she had ‘maybe a month left’ of recovery.

Later in the program, cameras caught up with Jade and said everyone is so focused on Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer, that they forgot about her. The champion Perez entered the frame and asked why did Jade help her. Jade stated that she likes who Perez has become.
