Both Rhodes and Reigns have ties to Georgia.

On the schedule for WWE is their Bad Blood Premium Live Event on October 5th from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

One of the matches on the bill is Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa teaming up against the duo of Roman Reigns and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. There was a segment that aired on Friday Night SmackDown during which Rhodes and Reigns met at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium to finalize if they were going to team with one another against The Bloodline.

Reigns played college football for Georgia Tech and Rhodes spent his adolescent years in Marietta, Georgia, which is 30 minutes out from Atlanta. Rhodes talked to Justin Barrasso about the segment and credited Paul Heyman, Jeremy Borash and Rob Fee for helping put it together.

I wish people could have been there on the ground. To see how real our business can get (he said about his segment with Roman Reigns at Bobby Dodd Stadium). Never spoke–just stood on opposite sides of the field and walked towards each other, neither with knowledge of what the other would say and just going straight through.

Hats off to Mr. Heyman, J.B., and Rob Fee for putting it in such a stylized manner. Reminded me of when World Class (Championship Wrestling) used to have credits roll after.

Reigns and Rhodes tagging is one of five matches advertised for Bad Blood and here’s the complete match card:

  • WWE Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley (Note: Dominik Mysterio to be suspended above ring in a shark cage)
  • Finn Bálor vs. Damian Priest
  • Hell in a Cell Match: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre
  • WWE Women’s Championship: Nia Jax (c) vs. Bayley
  • Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu)
