This month’s Rewind-A-Wai releases begin this Thursday with John Pollock & Wai Ting going back to April 2017 to review New Japan’s Sakura Genesis featuring the controversial match between Kazuchika Okada and Katsuyori Shibata, which nearly ended Shibata’s career. We will revisit the match, Shibata’s standing in the promotion and his trajectory, the success New Japan was enjoying, and the fallout from this event.
On October 17, Rewind-A-Wai covers WWF’s Saturday Night’s Main Event from October 1987 on NBC featuring Hulk Hogan vs. Sika, Honky Tonk Man vs. Randy Savage, and The Hart Foundation vs. The Young Stallions.
Finally, we release a review of WWE Money in the Bank 2011 on October 31 with CM Punk challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship in Chicago following “the pipe bomb promo”.
