POST Wrestling Café – October 2024: NJPW Sakura Genesis, SNME #12, MITB 2011

In October, the POST Wrestling Café will cover several major shows from NJPW & TNA along with three editions of Rewind-A-Wai.

NJPW presents King of Pro Wrestling on October 14 featuring Tetsuya Naito defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Zack Sabre Jr. at Sumo Hall.

John Pollock will have a review of the show that same day for all members of the POST Café with a rundown of the entire show.

The following weekend, Bruce Lord & Karen Peterson will have a show dedicated to NJPW’s Royal Quest IV at Crystal Palace in London, England.

TNA presents Bound for Glory later this month and will be covered for POST Café members.

This month’s Rewind-A-Wai releases begin this Thursday with John Pollock & Wai Ting going back to April 2017 to review New Japan’s Sakura Genesis featuring the controversial match between Kazuchika Okada and Katsuyori Shibata, which nearly ended Shibata’s career. We will revisit the match, Shibata’s standing in the promotion and his trajectory, the success New Japan was enjoying, and the fallout from this event.

On October 17, Rewind-A-Wai covers WWF’s Saturday Night’s Main Event from October 1987 on NBC featuring Hulk Hogan vs. Sika, Honky Tonk Man vs. Randy Savage, and The Hart Foundation vs. The Young Stallions.

Finally, we release a review of WWE Money in the Bank 2011 on October 31 with CM Punk challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship in Chicago following “the pipe bomb promo”.

Plus: Karen Peterson presents a special show focusing on The Queen of Villains on Netflix, weekly editions of Rewind-A-SmackDown & Collision Course, ad-free shows, news & audio updates sent directly to your email & more.
