Cody Rhodes is looking forward to what the upcoming deal with Netflix can do for WWE amid a boom period for the company.
WWE’s business is red hot as of late, moving tickets at an impressive rate. However, there’s always room for more growth.
Undisputed WWE Champion Rhodes believes that the big goal for WWE still remains the same: To become as big as some of America’s top sports leagues. He claims that the promotion isn’t there yet, but is making progress to get to that point.
Rhodes recently told The Pat McAfee Show that he thinks Netflix could be a huge way for WWE to grow even more, getting the brand closer to that mainstream goal.
“Netflix is going to be huge for us … We’re going up in terms of our public spotlight,” he said. “College football, NFL, those are the biggest things on the planet. They really are. We’re moving up and trying to get in that air. If you know anything about what we’re doing, we’re not far off. Netflix, I think, is definitely a big part of that. This is a huge deal for Netflix, this is a huge deal for WWE. I’m just excited that we get to kind of ride this new wave.”
We’re now just a couple of months away from Monday Night Raw’s official debut on Netflix. Starting in 2025, the streaming service will host Raw for what is expected to be a 10-year deal for a total price of $5 billion.
