AJ Styles suffered mid foot ligament sprain on WWE SmackDown

Jackie Redmond provides update on Styles.

The 10/4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown featured A.J. Styles’ return to WWE television. It was his first televised bout since his I Quit match against Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle: Scotland.

In his time off WWE TV, Styles wrestled at house shows and competed for Pro Wrestling NOAH against Naomichi Marufuji.

His TV return was a match against Carmelo Hayes and the bout was thrown out after Styles went down with an ankle injury. WWE backstage correspondent and host Jackie Redmond provided an update on Styles and noted that he suffered a mid foot ligament sprain.

Coming out of Smackdown last night, I can confirm that AJ Styles suffered a “mid foot ligament sprain” also known as a Lisfranc injury.

AJ will have an MRI later this week to determine the severity of the injury.

When that update on Styles is provided, we’ll update you here on POST Wrestling.
