Jimmy Jacobs, a key member of the production and writing staff at AEW, has reportedly parted ways with the company.

The news was broken by Fightful Select and later corroborated by The Wrestling Observer.

Jacobs, who joined AEW in June 2023, is reported to have been dealing with burnout.

At the All In 2024 press conference, AEW President Tony Khan told POST Wrestling:

Jimmy is really good because Jimmy’s the only person that goes to every show. I go to every show but there’s nobody else in the company besides Jimmy. He missed maybe two shows in the last year but he probably has the best attendance record of certainly anybody in the back office and almost anybody in the entire company.

Jacobs, 40, was an in-ring regular at Ring of Honor between 2003 and 2015. He then joined WWE’s creative team for two years before a stint with IMPACT Wrestling between 2017 and 2023.

The reports indicate that the departure was amicable and that AEW is looking at it as an opportunity to shake up the creative team.
