Zero Hour Pre-show

The pre-show began with Renee Paquette, RJ City and Jeff Jarrett breaking down the card. They were joined by guests including Chuck Taylor and Nyla Rose before throwing to the Zero Hour matches (see results above).

In a backstage segment, Rico (the former Rico Constantino in WWE) was revealed as MxM’s third man for their match with The Acclaimed. Rico was involved in the infamous “Billy and Chuck” storyline. Billy Gunn referenced this with a “No offense, Anthony” to Bowens before the match. Gunn hit him with the Famouser during the match.

Tony Schiavone brought out Tony Khan and the grandsons of Antonio Inoki. Khan (tried to) lead the crowd in a chant of “Ichi, Ni, San, Da!”

A newly cleared Kazuchika Okada and Kyle O’Reilly brawled outside after Okada refused O’Reilly a title match and called him a bitch.

Jay White vs. Hangman Adam Page

White and Page kicked off the main card. There was a clash of styles between White’s technical prowess and Page’s heel tactics and aggression.

White would pay back Page in kind as the match progressed, relentlessly attacking Hangman’s knee. This would pay off as White countered the Buckshot Lariat into the Bladerunner to get the win.

AEW Women’s World Championship: Mariah May (c) vs. Willow Nightingale

The commentators noted that this match was a repeat of the 2024 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final, which was won by May.

A very good match ended with Mariah May hitting the Storm Zero on Willow to retain her title.

TNT Championship: Jack Perry (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata

The match began with Shibata out-wrestling Perry, who kept heading outside the ring. Perry then got the upper hand with an eye gouge before the two got into a chop battle.

Shibata looked great here. The match came to an unpopular end with a flash pin. Perry then attacked Shibata after the bell, including with a belt shot. Daniel Garcia ran to the ring to stop the assault. Perry took off.

A pair of surprise returns then took place as MJF and then Adam Cole took to the ring.

AEW International Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Ricochet vs. Konosuke Takeshita

This match would take pages of text to break down. It was an all-action, high-speed affair that delighted the crowd and more than lived up to expectations.

Ospreay would lose due to a betrayal by Kyle Fletcher which allowed Takeshita to win.

Swerve Strickland’s homecoming

Swerve rejected overtones to abandon Prince Nana and join MVP. See separate story.

2 out of 3 Falls: Hologram vs. The Beast Mortos

Hologram picked up the first fall pretty quickly. In the great tradition of 2 out of 3 falls matches, Mortos would even the score to set up a deciding pinfall.

Hologram eventually emerged the victor and preserved his undefeated streak in AEW.

Darby Allin vs. Brody King

Before the match, a video was shown of Darby on his skateboard, hanging onto a bus from Seattle to Tacoma. He got a great reaction from the Washington crowd.

The match was dominated by the much larger Brody King, who flung Allin around with ease and absorbed his opponent’s attacks. At one point, King laid the steel ring steps on top of Darby and climbed them.

The tide finally turned when Darby shoved King onto the ring steps, followed by delivering a Coffin Drop.

The damage to the big man allowed Allin to deliver another Coffin Drop inside the ring for the pin.

AEW Tag Team Championships: The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) (c) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)

Before the challengers came out, a video package aired featuring their trainer, Amazing Red, giving them a motivational speech.

Ahead of the bell, Matt Jackson ran them down on the mic as a “mid-card act”. Private Party attacked to shut them up and the Bucks left. With the match still not underway, the four fought on the entranceway.

Finally, Kassidy and Nick Jackson got the match started. The action came fast and furious as we saw Stokely Hathaway and Top Flight separately watching from the crowd.

Private Party successfully hit the Gin and Juice down the stretch for a big near-fall on Nick Jackson. Another huge two-count came after the Bucks hit the EVP Trigger on Kassidy.

A TK Driver soon after left the Bucks with the titles.

ROH World Championship: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Chris Jericho

Jim Ross joined the commentary desk before this match. Big Bill made his presence felt with cheap shots while referee Aubrey Edwards was distracted. He was stopped from putting Briscoe through a table, though, by Orange Cassidy.

A big near-fall came when Bryan Keith hit Briscoe from behind. Keith was run off by Rocky Romero.

This was eclipsed when Briscoe kicked out of the Jay Driller as Jericho tried to humiliate him. A fired-up Briscoe hit the Death Valley Driver, hit the Froggy Bow, and finally the Jay Driller for the win.

AEW World Championship: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Jon Moxley

Bryan Danielson’s full-time in-ring career is at an end. See separate story for the full details.
