Long-time ROH talent Dalton Castle has been out of action since July due to a gnarly injury and is now eyeing a return in 2025.

Castle recently opened up about his torn bicep, explaining the injury while on the Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend podcast alongside RJ City. He described how he sustained the injury during a match with Roderick Strong on AEW Collision, seemingly suffering the physical setback due to a fall outside of the ring. Castle described the injury as a “freak accident:”

“It was the last match I had,” Castle said on the Alison Rosen podcast. “The guy I was wrestling, just a little freak accident happened, then it [left bicep] hurt. I was freaking out. The guy I was wrestling with took a cheap shot at me, or advantage of the situation. It sucks. I was supposed to go hiking the next day in Calgary. I lost the match, and then I lost my hiking trip and now I spend every day in physical therapy, and on the weekends I go antiquing. And that’s where I find my happy place, buying old mugs … The injury wasn’t his fault, but he just didn’t back down after. I thought we were friends, me and this guy. I was like ‘Hey, I need a second.’ He was like ‘No, no timeouts.’ … I don’t want to get into it.

Castle mentioned how he is currently trying to stay away from wrestling, as watching anything “cool” his friends are doing in the industry just reminds him that he is still injured and can’t work.

“I try not to think about it too much,” Castle said, about wrestling. “The time off sucks. I’m just focusing on enjoying the time off and working on getting better and not watching what’s going on in wrestling and trying to keep my mind off it. Except [for when] my friends will do something cool and I’ll have to watch it and get sucked in, and get excited, and then I recognize that I’m still very much hurt and get angry. It’s this weird rollercoaster cycle of emotions.”

Castle mentioned that he expects a return in January. It was previously reported that he was expected to be out of action for the rest of the year.
