Mark Briscoe vs. The Butcher

This week’s edition of Rampage kicked off with Ring of Honor World Champion Mark Briscoe taking on The Butcher. Briscoe dominated most of the match, trying to hit the Jay Driller only to have The Butcher counter and put up a fight of his own.

The action continued and eventually, Mark Briscoe was able to hit the Froggy Bow for the win.

This led directly into the next match with Mark Briscoe welcoming Kyle O’Reilly to the ring for his match against Aaron Solo.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Aaron Solo

During this match, the announce team discussed Okada not wanting to defend his Continental Championship against Kyle O’Reilly.

Aaron Solo mounted some brief offense and even got a brief “Aaron” chant from the crowd but he ultimately tapped out to the Guillotine. After the match, O’Reilly got on the mic and called out Okada for Battle of the Belts, saying he wanted the guy who main evented the Tokyo Dome, not the “Young Bucks Young Boy”.

Jamie Hayter & Penelope Ford

Renee Paquette interviewed Jamie Hayter backstage (which was the first time she’s spoken on AEW programming since returning at All In. Hayter said she didn’t know why Penelope Ford attacked her but she returned to “right the wrongs” and win back her Championship. She said that Penelope was getting in her way and she’d be at Collision.

Deonna & Taya

Another Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie promo aired in which she said you take care of the people closest to you and if you want to hurt someone, you take out who they love most.

Anna Jay vs. Trish Adora

Next, Anna Jay took on Trish Adora with Mariah May on commentary. Mariah May talked down Anna Jay who she will face in a Championship Eliminator Match at Battle of the Belts XII tomorrow night.

Anna Jay picked up the win with a Gory Bomb. After the match, Mariah May got on the mic saying that Anna should buy her dinner because at Battle of the Belts, she’s going to be crying, shaking, and screaming her name.

Harley Cameron Speaks Chinese

Renee Paquette interviewed Harley Cameron who will be facing Kris Statlander tomorrow night on Collision. Renee asked where Saraya was but Harley could only say she was “incapacitated”.

Next Friday’s Three-Way Tag Team Match

Next week on Rampage it was announced that it’ll be Undisputed Kingdom vs. Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty vs. Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona in a Three-Way Tag Team match.

Private Party vs. MxM Collection

The main event of Rampage was Private Party taking on MxM Collection (without Rico).

Private Party picked up the victory with More Bang For Your Buck, clearly keeping their focus on the tag titles and the Young Bucks.

Final Thoughts

It’s starting to feel like a copy/paste here lately but again there wasn’t much to write home about from tonight’s Rampage, especially since it was all set up for matches that that were taped Thursday night.
