Jade is back in a main event storyline.

Just one month after returning to WWE NXT, Cora Jade suffered a torn ACL. After eight months on the shelf, she made a surprise appearance at the NXT on CW premiere and helped Roxanne Perez retain the NXT Women’s Championship over Giulia.

Perez and Jade are reunited and the duo are set to take on Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia at Halloween Havoc. Going into the show, Jade chatted with Rick Ucchino of The Takedown on Sports Illustrated.

She expressed that tearing her ACL after almost felt like rock bottom. She wishes it hadn’t happened, but it allowed her to slow down and put things into perspective.

At that point (after tearing my ACL), it was almost like I was at rock bottom. Everything was already bad, so you could only go up from there. I had no choice in the matter.

I’ve been going so hard and just nonstop since I started when I was 15, 16-years-old and I’ve never had a break. I wish it never happened, but in retrospect, I think it was good that I got the time to just sit back and breathe for a second. And just come back with a fresh start, fresh headspace.

I’m as ready as I’ve ever been. I’m in the best shape physically and mentally that I’ve ever been in, so I’m excited. I think this is gonna be a very good run for me. And I think not only just me, but the NXT women’s division, I think we’re skyrocketing right now.

Jade remembers suffering the injury and crying and being apologetic. NXT overseer Shawn Michaels assured her that it was not her fault and that eased the emotional pain. She spoke about the trust he has in her to slot her into a main event storyline upon her comeback.

He (Shawn Michaels) has endless trust in the (women’s division). I remember when I got hurt. I was crying and I was apologizing to him and I remember (him saying), ‘Don’t say sorry. It’s not your fault.’ I’m just so thankful that he obviously gets it. Injuries happen. You have to take the time, get better. He gave me the time. He let me mentally, physically get better. And then as soon as I came back… he had the faith and the trust in me to throw me back in the main event picture.

Perez and Jade versus Giulia and Vaquer is one of five matches on the Halloween Havoc card. When the show wraps, the Poisonrana Podcast is going live on the POST Wrestling YouTube channel with their review.
