Postl is appreciative.

Dylan Postl a.k.a. Hornswoggle is a co-owner of the ACW Wisconsin promotion and it was at their October 11th show that he announced he signed a Nostalgia contract with WWE.

He further dove into that on his Going Postl podcast. Postl compared the feeling to when he was first hired by WWE in 2006. He added that it feels good to be recognized. Postl went on to express gratitude to his father for teaching him to never burn bridges.

Very few people knew (I signed a WWE Nostalgia contract). By few, I mean close friends… So, damn, probably two months now? I was on the way to blink-182 with Landon and I get a call. It’s a 203 number, and I decided I’m gonna answer this and I get offered a WWE Nostalgia deal and it’s funny that it’s Nostalgia deal now and not a Legends contract. Of course, it’s a Nostalgia one when I get it (he laughed). I was in the middle of Milwaukee and I took the call and I turned my maps off and I was like, I don’t know where I’m going. Oh no. What am I gonna do? I just didn’t care. At that point, I did not care. This was my world. So I just kept driving and it was very reminiscent — the feeling was very reminiscent of when I first got signed. It was almost better. This is almost a better feeling. I don’t know. So I keep saying it feels good to be recognized. That’s what the feeling is and the first (person) I called was my dad. Legitimately, the first person I called was my dad… It was very reminiscent of when I told him I got hired and very, like, he just kept saying, ‘Proud of you. See, it’s so good that you’re being recognized’ and he goes, ‘Ya listen to me, all I said was don’t burn bridges and you never did that’ and I said, ‘You damn right. I just listened to you’ and I said, ‘Thank you for telling me that up-front. Thank you for always digging that into my brain of you can be very mad about some things, but just don’t burn bridges.’ It’s so many guys that have burned bridges in the past and so many guys that don’t have the opportunity or opportunities given to them, and there’s no reason to. I say all the time, and I say it on this podcast, I say it in past episodes, whenever we talk about WWE stuff, I was so lucky and still am so lucky to be able to live my dream there for 10 years of my life when I shouldn’t have ever and it’s pretty cool. Now, what does that mean? Who knows? Now they can do stuff with video games, with trading cards, with action figures. Who knows? Legitimately, my mindset is they’re going to do nothing. That’s my mindset. Because you can only be happily surprised that way. As we know through this podcast, you can’t be let down if you don’t think positively.

One of the coolest things now that the last three weeks has been it not leaking. I’ve heard the list and 90 percent of them are out there now. But mine never leaked and leading up to our ACW show, I messaged Matt Stein, (Josh) Binder and (Josh) Weimer and I said, ‘Guys, can I break the news at the ACW show?’ I never want ACW shows to be self-serving, and like, they’re not about me. But I was like, ‘Hey, this would be really, really cool for me to break it to the Oshkosh crowd, the ACW crowd if I could break it that night’ and they were all like, ‘Yes, please. Yeah,’ and immediately in my head, I was like, if I break it that night, we get some more eyes on ACW socials and all of that and then just repost and retweet from there. So that’s what I did and man, it was very emotional. I remember doing the announcement and thanking people and looking at Landon and then looking at Shane Hills, one of my trainers from 20 years ago and seeing him right there and man, it was just emotional… It was just cool. It was a cool, cool thing to be able to say and I’m glad I did it that night. I’m so glad that it didn’t leak. God, I’m so glad it didn’t leak because it was just a special moment… The whole night, I was like, ‘Nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia’ and I still said ‘legends.’

Postl joins a list of names that have announced their Nostalgia/Legends contracts over the past several months such as Diamond Dallas Page, Jesse Ventura, Jacqueline Moore, Rob Van Dam and Armando Alejandro Estrada.
