Friday Night SmackDown & AEW Rampage viewership against World Series

Friday Night SmackDown finished second among all cable programming for its night while running against Game 1 of the World Series on Fox.

The October 25 episode of SmackDown from Brooklyn averaged 1,418,000 viewers and 578,000 viewers (0.43) in the 18-49 demographic on the USA Network representing increases of 3% in both categories, per Wrestlenomics & Programming Insider.

SmackDown was second among all original cable programs on Friday behind ESPN’s coverage of the New York Knicks vs. Indiana Pacers (0.54) while topping the Phoenix Suns vs. L.A. Lakers on ESPN (0.26), and College Football on ESPN2 (0.22).

Fox’s airing of Game 1 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and L.A. Dodges topped all of television that night with 14,163,000 viewers and a 3.29 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The game also averaged 253,000 viewers and 0.05 on Fox Deportes.

SmackDown’s viewership in Canada was 216,400 and 81,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360 and its lowest audience since August 30.

On a competitive night of sports, SmackDown ranked #7 in Canada behind the World Series, two CFL games, a Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers game, and the late edition of TSN’s Sportscentre and SN Central.

AEW Rampage saw an uptick after posting its lowest 18-49 audience in history last week.

The October 25 show averaged 241,000 viewers and 116,000 (0.09) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Wrestlenomics.

Its audience increased by 3% but the demo audience shot up 38% from last week’s all-time low and posted its largest demo audience since September 20.

Rampage was headlined by Ricochet beating Nick Wayne and opened with Matt Taven & Mike Bennett over Gates of Agony and Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty, which was promoted one week in advance.
