TNA confirms Chris Bey underwent surgery for neck injury, provides update on El Hijo del Vikingo

Coming out of the post-TNA Bound For Glory television taping in Detroit, Michigan, both Chris Bey and El Hijo del Vikingo had to be stretchered out of their respective matches.

Official updates on both talents were issued via a press release from TNA Wrestling. The promotion shared that Bey underwent surgery for a neck injury he sustained. They added that he was joking in the hospital bed and talking about the aforementioned pay-per-view. 

As for Vikingo, he was treated for a right knee injury. He is on crutches and wearing a leg brace. He flew home on 10/28 to be examined by his specialist.

Chris Bey is recovering at the hospital following surgery for the neck injury suffered Sunday night and he had an MRI procedure on Monday. He was resting in his hospital room Monday night, joking, talking about Bound For Glory and in good spirits. Chris will be in Detroit for a few days and family members have joined him, along with TNA Wrestling management and wrestlers who are staying in Detroit.

Chris is under professional care and supervision, and the local medical staff has been in contact with his personal doctor.

Vikingo returned to the Detroit hotel Sunday night after being treated at the hospital for a right knee injury. He is on crutches and wearing a leg brace. Vikingo flew home to Mexico on Monday, where he will be examined and treated by his specialist.

The details of how Bey was injured is unknown. Vikingo had a match against Trent Seven and went for a corkscrew to the outside and landed awkwardly on his leg.
