El Phantasmo sent out a statement on his X account. He revealed that he underwent scans and tests and doctors found ‘a little tumor of cancer.’ He added that he’s had the support of his family, friends and fans as things are moving fast.

He noted that he’s in good spirits and is not nervous, worried or scared. Phantasmo went on to spotlight Chris Bey and wants everyone to send him their love and prayers. As for tagging with Hiroshi Tanahashi, he believes it’ll happen but it’s impossible for him to say when. Phantasmo closed by noting that he’ll be back stronger than ever.

Phantasmo out of action for the time being.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling pushed out the announcement on their social and digital platforms that El Phantasmo is going to be out of action.

They noted that the reasoning is due to a health concern. Phantasmo was scheduled to make his way onto the Super Junior Tag League tour this week on the lead-up to Power Struggle on November 4th. At Power Struggle, he was going to team with Hiroshi Tanahashi to take on House of Torture’s EVIL and Ren Narita.
