WWE NXT notes: RVD to be involved with 2300 Arena show, Dawn Marie put on notice, Casket match, Regal/Lexis

There was a shot of NXT General Manager Ava and WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam backstage together. Van Dam relayed to her that he’d like to be involved with the 2300 Arena show on November 6th. The main event of the 10/29 program saw Cedric Alexander and Je’Von Evans challenge Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Championships. As the bout was ongoing, Wes Lee came out to taunt Evans so Evans left the ring to fight Lee. Alexander was left alone and the champions went on to retain their titles. Evans and Lee brawled backstage and entering the frame was RVD. He stood in-between the two talents and said he knows what he wants to do on the 11/6 show.

It is official that Dawn Marie will be the special guest referee for Jaida Parker and Lola Vice’s Hardcore match on 11/6. In Parker’s promotional video package, she warned Marie to stay out of her way.

The opening match of the night saw Tatum Paxley defeat Wendy Choo in the first women’s Casket match in WWE.

NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo received a voicemail call from a ‘family member.’ The person on the phone was not pleased that he had to hear secondhand that D’Angelo is coming to Philadelphia for the 2300 Arena show. Commentators Vic Joseph and Booker T wondered if it was Nunzio who called D’Angelo.

Lexis King fought Charlie Dempsey in their Heritage Cup match on a bad knee. His cornerman for the match was Dempsey’s father, William Regal. Regal slid brass knuckles to King, but King did not want them and shouted at Regal that he’s not his father Brian Pillman. Dempsey put King away with a German suplex to retain the Heritage Cup.

Adriana Rizzo identified Nikkita Lyons as her backstage attacker and cost Lyons her match against Kelani Jordan. Rizzo went after Lyons post-match.
