A big year for NJPW’s TMDK faction has only continued.
The group’s “Ichiban Sweet Boys” duo of Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles have advanced to NJPW’s Super Junior Tag League grand finals on November 4, getting through the A Block with a total of eight points.
Eagles and Fujita secured their first-place position in the block as part of NJPW’s Friday show in Ishikawa, pulling ahead of the five other teams in their division. While three teams entered today with six points in the standings, only Fujita and Eagles were able to build upon their points with another win.
Fujita and Eagles overcame the House of Torture duo of SHO and Yoshinobu Kanemaru in Friday’s co-main event, scoring a victory in 16 minutes. The win blocked SHO and Kanemaru from overtaking them for first, as the teams both entered today with six points.
Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney had the chance to also climb up to eight points in the headlining bout of the night but came up short against BUSHI and Hiromu Takahashi of Los Ingobernables de Japon.
The second half of the Super Junior Tag League finals will be confirmed tomorrow with a show from Nagoya. It’s currently a complete toss-up as to who will emerge out of the B Block, with all six teams in the division currently tied up with four points each.
