Cody Rhodes has hoisted the WWE Men’s Crown Jewel Championship after defeating Gunther in Saudi Arabia.
The Undisputed WWE Champion defeated his World Heavyweight counterpart in the main event of WWE’s latest Saudi-based PLE on Saturday.
Gunther consistently outpowered Rhodes in the first half of the match with Cody absorbing a lot of damage in the underdog role.
Cody would rally, but only to be countered time and again by the Austrian. Gunther’s frustration would grow as Rhodes consistently kicked out of his pinning attempts.
In the finish, Rhodes went for a Cody Cutter from the ropes. He was caught in a sleeper hold by his opponent but was able to escape and roll up Gunther for the win.
